A true Spanish pearl.....

One of my great pleasures in my sommelier world is to find a pearl. I define a pearl as being a very good wine at a very good price. The September 17th release offers, in my humble opinion, such a pearl.
Arrocal is a very very young winery having produced its first wines in 2005 but their techniques are steeped in very old traditions, from the manner in which they train their vines to the fact that only gravity is used (not pumps) throughout the winery to move the fluid.

The 2008 Arrocal is a wonderful example of a Spanish tempranillo with earthy aromas of chocolate, leather. Your nose will also find wonderful scents of dark fruit. Still a young wine, the 2008 already has silky tannins with dense flavours matching what was detected on the nose.
At only $16.95 it is a super buy but be advised it will not last long on the shelves. Once the wine lovers taste it they will run back to buy more...I know I am going back today.
